Industrial Routers

Any cable router can be connected to the Tooway modem but we recommend the following model for use on solar farms, which satisfies the specification issued by Lightsource Renewable Energy Ltd.

NetModule NB1600 Mobile & WLAN & optional GPS

Combined UMTS/LTE and WLAN router

The Wireless Internet Access Point (WIAP) provides wireless internet access for other devices. With the Multi-SSID function several separated WiFi networks can be operated at the same time.
In multi-WAN configuration, the device operates as a least cost router with automatic fall back in case of a failure. In this case the WiFi interface is configured as a client and one Ethernet port is connected to a local network.

The integrated GPS receiver allows you to locate the position of the device with a high accuracy or to use the GPS signal as the time base. Integrating into map services like Google Maps allows you to track the device if it's mounted in moving equipment.

In its role as device server the NB1600 converts both, the serial and the USB interface to IP, enabling remote access to these interfaces. Any PC with IP connection to the router can use the remote USB or RS-232 device as if it was directly connected. This setup allows using the original driver.
Digital I/Os can be configured by local or remote devices. Based on input port state changes, applications can be informed and e.g. an SMS is sent to a group of numbers.

The SDK allows users programing the NB1600 using a simple script and implementing all kind of applications. Reprocessing can be done directly on the router, thus saving an additional IPC.

Other features and services are DHCP server, DNS proxy, Dynamic DNS Agent, SNMP agent, Telnet server, SSH server, Web server, e-mail and SMS. The router is operated by the Web Manager or via command line.
Firmware and configuration updates can be easily performed from remote in a fail-safe manner. The SNMP interface allows integration of the Router in a network management system for supervision.

For those clients that are not required to follow the Lightsource specification the following routers are recommended:-

NetModule NB1600 WLAN

WLAN access point, WLAN client

The NB1600 WLAN router is an industrial grade access point with additional functions. The integrated WLAN card can be configured as access point or as client. In access point mode, the router can establish up to 4 different WLAN networks.

As a special highlight NB1600 offers two Ethernet ports that are highly configurable. Used as LAN ports they may form a 2 port switch or have two separated and routed IP networks. Used as WAN ports the NB1600 acts as an industrial firewall with VPN client functionality.

The RS-232 serial interface can be configured by software as system console or serial device server. Legacy equipment that does not have any Ethernet port can be hooked up this way.

The NB1600 has two isolated binary inputs and two relay outputs for direct connection of sensors and actuators.

The USB port enables configuration and firmware update from memory stick. Ask for support of your specific USB device.

NB1600 supports major VPN technologies such as IPsec and OpenVPN. Both, server and client mode is possible. Simple handling of a Public key infrastructure makes is easy to connect two NB1600 via trough a VPN tunnel.

Further services include DHCP server, DNS proxy server, DDNS agent, SNMP agent, telnet server, SSH server, web server, e-mail client and SMS client. The device is administrated via an easy to use web GUI or the command line interface. Over the air software update is both easy and fail-safe.

Introduction

The EDS-205A/208A series are 5 and 8-port industrial Ethernet switches that support IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u/x with 10/100M full/half-duplex, MDI/MDI-X auto-sensing. The EDS-205A/208A switches provide 12/24/48 VDC (9.6 to 60 VDC), 18 to 30 VAC redundant power inputs that can be connected simultaneously to live AC/DC power sources. These switches have been designed for harsh industrial environments, such as in maritime (DNV/GL/LR/ABS/NK), rail wayside, highway, or mobile applications (EN 50121-4/NEMA TS2/e-Mark), or hazardous locations (Class I Div. 2, ATEX Zone 2) that comply with FCC, UL, and CE standards.

The EDS-205A/208A switches are available with a standard operating temperature range from -10 to 60°C, or with a wide operating temperature range from -40 to 75°C. All models are subjected to a 100% burn-in test to ensure that they fulfil the special needs of industrial automation control applications. In addition, the
